New Home Design Trends in 2022

Home Design Trends

This 2022 added to the lifestyle that we were forced to have in 2021 with some variations; We recovered some of our social life and adapted to working in a combination of remote and face-to-face, that is why here are 3 trends in home design for 2022.

Although it was already seen coming, the amount of time that we are going to work from home became a reality. The need to add a decent, spacious space, with good lighting and without noise, has become an essential requirement in houses. At UNIT we like to place this space separate from the others; we always look for a corner with a good view, good natural lighting and separated from the distractions of the kitchen, the garden or the bedrooms.

One of the main benefits of interior design is that it can maximise the amount of available space.

‘Family’ next to the kitchen

The use and enjoyment of the kitchen has become a great trend in homes. In the past, the kitchen was seen as a noisy, dirty place of service that we tried to keep separate. Today we see the need to be able to live with others while we are there. That is why it has become a space to show off, even at the most formal dinners.

Outdoor spaces

The time we spend locked up, the change in social dynamics and even the change in climate in Monterrey, have caused a tendency to take more out of outdoor spaces. Terraces connecting an indoor social area with an outdoor one have become the standard for gatherings. A good barbecue, a living room and a covered outdoor dining room have become a request in every possible house.

Just like these, there are many more trends, for example: in finishes, in installations and even in construction materials.

If you have at the door start with the design of your house, do not hesitate to approach us.
